The LS 600h is no longer listed on Lexus’s website for 2017. It’s about time they killed it off.

They could have at least put the 5.0 into the LS460 for 2017...

I believe the 5th gen comes out next year. They’re probably saving the 5.0 for that one.

I would totally buy one of those used. It’s like the Land Cruiser, understated, comfortable, almost invisible and yet totally awesome and packed full of awesome.

It hasn’t been for months, what’s weird is it’s still in brochures.

It’s also no longer on fueleconomy.gov, so I’d say it’s definitely dead, at least in the US.
The real problem with it is that it was so much heavier than the LS 460 L AWD, and acceleration wasn’t much better as a result. Highway economy was the same, and city economy was a notable improvement (from 16 to 19 MPG), but at large expense. Smoothness will have been better due to how the Toyota hybrid systems work, but...
Mind you, this isn’t even the parts going out of availability - the RWD version of the gearbox is still around for the GS 450h. This really seems like it’s not worth Toyota’s time to try to sell it.
Really, I suspect there’ll be another Lexus flagship hybrid in the next generation, using a Li-ion battery instead of the old NiMH pack of this car, and probably using the new Multi-Stage Hybrid system from the LC 500h - more gear ratios available (4 instead of 2) means that they can use smaller, lighter, higher-revving electric motors, and keep them happy.

It was incredibly overpriced as well...if they had made an LS 450h that was around $80-90k I’m sure it would have sold much better.
I’ve heard talk of a possible LS 500h so we’ll see what happens.

Although, really, is the market that it was aimed at cost-sensitive?
The LS 600h was intended to be the substitute for a V12 flagship, so it needed to do two things: be smooth, and be fast. In addition, it needed to have some sort of real environmental cred.
It did one of those things. (Well, OK, it was faster than the LS 460, but not much. Not 6.0-liter-class performance like the model number implied.)

That’s true. Not taking the hybrid aspect into consideration, it was a true flagship. But I do think that the majority of the audience who buys these types of cars are willing to do research to find the best car, so the 600h was discredited because the Germans offered more for the same price.
